SUPPORT FOR NYAKALONG HOME FOR THE PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY DISABLED

Families with children that are born with any kind of physical or mental disability face many challenges to provide an enabling environment for these children to grow and thrive. In the case of mental illness, the situation is generally made worse because of lack of understanding and misconceptions that are perpetuated by society.

Nyakalong Home in Sebokeng is a Non-Profit –Organisation that provides shelter for children living with physical and mental disability. It was established in 2008 by Ms. Manana and her colleagues and currently houses 25 children ranging from ages 6 to 35. Some of the children whom they have taken where abused and abandoned without any reference to their biological family.

 

In June 2019 Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting made a donation to Nyakalong home to assist with groceries; basic supplies; blankets; heaters and has procured 2 hospital beds and 10 wheel chairs. Nyakallong home was presented with the above mentioned gifts at an event fully sponsored by Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting.

In conjunction with Maponya Ambulances, Lesedi Technical has undertaken to continue assisting this home into the future.
