MSUNDUZI HOUSING PROJECT

PROJECT SUMMARY

Msunduzi Municipality was required to deliver services to the people under its jurisdiction and for Communities to participate in matters of Local Government. Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting was appointed by KwaZulu Natal Provincial Treasury as a Professional Service Provider to provide Project Management assistance in order to fast track housing developments and township establishments under Msunduzi Municipality in Pietermaritzburg. The project teams comprised of 5 professionals from Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting, housing officials from Msunduzi Municipality and KwaZulu Natal Department of Human Settlement.

SCOPE

Lesedi assessed projects and unpacked the risks and problems that hindered the successful completion of the projects. Detailed reports of the actions that needed to be taken to move the process forward were given to the Municipality after extensive research and consultation was achieved with stakeholders in the area. This assisted Lesedi in ensuring successful project management of the projects in a sustainable manner that enhanced the social and economic status of the beneficiaries and the communities. Lesedi also provided capacity and resources for successful project management of the Msunduzi Municipality housing development projects.

 

The projects were fast tracked by a team comprising of the Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting team and Msunduzi Municipality Housing officials.
