PROJECT SUMMARY

Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting has been appointed as the design engineers for the Chief Albert Luthuli Extension 6 Housing development. Through this project, Government is constructing a mixed use development to accommodate approximately 7 600 families (irrespective of financial standing), in Gauteng on a site 3km west of Daveyton and regards it as a high priority project. The project has yielded approximately 7600 units in Extension 6 comprising of 3600 subsidised units, 500 rental units and 3 850 bond houses of which 1 780 are for the affordable market.

SCOPE

The objective included the transformation of old spatial designs of settlements into an all- inclusive housing development. As appointed engineers of the project, Lesedi Technical Engineering’s role involved the design of the infrastructure and construction monitoring. Phase one and phase two for the construction of the water and sanitation services has been completed.
