LAERSKOOL KEMPTON PARK

Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting CSI division has been hard at work mapping out various activities that it will commit to engaging in. One of the pending outreach plans is theimprovement of building infrastructure for priority schools in and around Johannesburg. Though the budget for CSI activity is currently under review, we are hopeful that Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting will be able to make a meaningful contribution to a priority school this year.

In the effort to identify priority schools to work with, we have started school visits taking as part of the needs assessment. The first visit took place at Laerskool Kempton Park, and there was a positive atmosphere and instant connection with the school. Laerskool Kempton Park has pleasant young learners, who appear to be very lively and eager to learn. A needs assessment for all the schools with the guidance of our CSI policy has been conducted. We will await feedback to determine the magnitude of engagement and contribution that Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting can have with the school.

While the CSI division conducts the detailed needs assessments in order to establish the year’s plan, it was decided that we should assist where we can in the meantime. Lesedi Technical compiled school gift packages which include school shirts, sanitary towels, assorted stationery, and delicious kiddies treats. The goods were accepted by the school headmaster Mr Paige, who was grateful for the company’s effort assist their underprivileged learners. While the hand out of kiddies treat was a favourite with Lesedi Technical Engineering Consulting staff as it is always wonderful to see the bright smiles of young children.

Laerskool Kempton Park is only one of a number of schools that Lesedi Technical is considering to partner with in its CSI initiatives, and there will definitely be more school visits soon. We look forward to Building a Better workspaces for the youth and driving the education agenda in South Africa forward.
